Past & Present - Cringe!
Remember what it was like when you started? What work have you done that makes you cringe now?
I was that weird kid in middle/high school who watches animes and doodles anime-influenced original characters. I would make up a story that branches into multiple universes, and would turn red in embarrassment when somebody wants to see my sketchbooks.
Now, I sometimes cringe whenever I look at my old artworks and writings, thinking ‘oh god, why did I make this?!’. Though, no matter how embarrassed I felt, I was glad that I have that past. After all, it shaped me to who I am today. Admittedly, that little weird kid is still in me haha.
Do you have any advice for freelancers or those starting out in your creative field?
Have a basic knowledge in business before you start freelancing, and don’t be afraid to interact with people in your field. These two come in handy in the long run.
